BBC - BBC Radio 2 unveils 500 Words winners at the Tower.

Chris Evans has launched his 500 Words competition for 2016 on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show. The writing competition returns for the sixth year, and children around the country between 5 and 13 years of age are encouraged to get creative and send in their amazing stories by 7pm on Thursday 25 February.They are also inviting members of library staff to judge the competition.

Chris Evans said: '500 WORDS provides a glimpse into the brilliant minds of kids around the country. These stories will amuse, thrill, delight and inspire you. So please: spread the word about 500 WORDS. And if you’re aged 13 and under, get writing!” There are bronze, silver and gold prizes in each category. The top 50 story-writers will be.

Now in its 8th year, Chris Evans’ 500 Words is one of the most successful story writing competitions for kids in the world and is open to every 5-13 year old in the UK. Its mission is to get children excited about reading and writing, regardless of their ability.

The Queen has revealed she is a big fan of BBC Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans. Her Majesty, who used to be a devotee of the late Terry Wogan, revealed she still enjoys tuning into the Breakfast Show.

The ultimate aim will be for pupils to produce amazing stories and they will be offered the opportunity to enter into BBC Radio 2’s 500 words writing competition as hosted by Chris Evans.

Is anyone else really fed up with listening to Chris Evans on his Radio 2 show broadcast every day around teatime?
